The Soup Kitchen is an outreach programme started five years ago. Over 400 schoolchildren were being fed at inception of the programme and this grew to 750 children the following year. Over the last two years, the programme has expanded to feeding over 4 000 children and elderly. The acronym SOUP stands for Supernatural Outpouring On People because we believe that you have to get to the natural man before you get to the spirit man who needs to be born again.

Activities

The Soup Kitchen feeds over 4 000 people a week in areas such as Eland House, Lacy Road squatter camp, Kenney Road Informal settlement and various schools in Durban. This requires a lot of preparation.

The team meets every week on tuesdays, the vegetables and meat are prepared. Early on wednesday giant pots of soup are cooked and decanted for distribution. This happens on wednesday and thursday. Intercession and prayer happens before the distribution and a ministry team meets and prays with children and the elderly while the soup is handed out.
