Room for More of the Holy Ghost

This week, I would like to talk to you about the Person of the Holy Spirit, in light of Jesus’ parable in Luke 14:16-25. This is because there is always room for more of the Holy Ghost in our lives.

The Third Person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, doesn't just want to fill you and me

He wants to fill us to the point of overflowing in Him. Listen to what Jesus says in John 7:38 in the Amplified version,

“He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.”

Obviously a continuous flow from springs and rivers of living water means that there must be an overflow.

Furthermore, in Ephesians 5:18 (NKJV) Paul writes;

“And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit...”

One of the renderings of the words “be filled” means “to be generously supplied with.”

If you are generously supplied with something or someone, it means you have so much that you begin to overflow.

Herein, is the heart of God revealed to us.

He loves us so much that He desires to fill us so that we are overflowing, “good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” (Luke 6:38).

That my friend is how extravagant God’s love is toward you and me!

The servant in this parable represents the Holy Spirit and His work in the earth today.

And as much as He desires to fill you to overflowing, His desire is to work through you, to reach and win people for Christ.

Did you ever think about the fact that you may be the only Bible people may get to read?

You may be the only sermon people may get to hear.

The Holy Spirit not only made Jesus real to you when you got saved, but He will also make the Jesus in you, real to others.

If Jesus is real to you, then He will be real to others.

And the Holy Spirit wants to use you and flow through you to make Jesus real to others.

The amazing thing is that the Holy Spirit is not looking for extraordinary people endowed with great talents, abilities and gifting. That’s not to say, he won’t use such people; He will.

The important thing to know is that He will use anybody who is willing to make themselves available to Him.

No matter what your background is, what your education is, what your gender is, what your ethnicity is or any of that stuff.

What matters is your willingness to allow the Third Person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit access to your life.

When you do, He will make you look like a genius. He always does!

That’s why I always like to make room for more of the Holy Ghost in my life.

How about you?

MY DECLARATION:

If Jesus is real to me, then He will be real to others.
