On the sixth day of creation, God created His masterpiece, Mankind. And when He did, He created him to be His dwelling place.
Thus he enjoyed perfect fellowship and communion with His God because Adam was the dwelling place of God.
Adam was at his best when he stayed and dwelt in the presence of God. And as long as Adam was abiding in the presence of Almighty God, he was fine.
There is a very simple yet powerful principle here my friend; the closer we get to Jesus and His presence, the stronger we become as believers.
But when Adam transgressed, he died spiritually and was cut off and separated from the presence of God.
Adam then began to live from his soul; he was a natural man being led by his soul.
And to this day, this is how man, separated from God, lives because apart from God, the spirit of man is dead.
So God sought for Himself another dwelling place.
He then chose to establish a divine pattern of how He would once again dwell among His people.
He took up Moses onto the mountain and during 40 days and nights of fasting and praying, God revealed to him the workings of the tabernacle.
Everything the priests did in the outer court and in the holy place culminated in that one-time event when the High Priest, on the Day of Atonement, went beyond the veil and into the Most Holy Place and there encountered the presence of Almighty God.
The Most Holy Place, which contained the Ark of the Covenant, now became the dwelling place of God.
But alas, Israel transgressed when idol worship was introduced through intermarriage with pagan tribes.
Once again God sought for Himself a dwelling place.
Then God initiated His prefect dwelling place by sending His own Son in the form of a human being.
He had started with the first Adam in the Garden and now He would abide in Jesus, His Last Adam.
Jesus was the perfect dwelling place of God, who in the end would become the perfect sacrifice.
Then, Jesus, who knew no sin, was made to know sin for all humanity and at that moment in time, while hanging on the cross, God turned His back on Himself, and forsook His only begotten Son.
Then God sought for Himself another dwelling place.
Just before Jesus ascended on high, He reminded His disciples about the promise of the Father and how they were to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
Acts 2 tells us that after 50 days of being in one accord, 120 people were suddenly all filled with the Holy Spirit, God having chosen for Himself another dwelling place.
And from that day to this present time, God continues to pour out His Spirit upon ALL flesh, because He has found another dwelling place, a more permanent one - you and me!
That is the reason why the new birth and receiving Christ as Lord and Saviour, is the greatest miracle that can ever happen.
At that moment in time, we become “reconstructed” by God and become fit to be God’s dwelling place.
I don’t know about you but that is quite a staggering thought!
Just to think that ALL of God resides in me and ALL of God resides in you.
My friend, be encouraged today.
You may feel lonely, forsaken and disappointed by others.
But Jesus said He would never leave nor forsake you, that He would be with you and in you all the time, everywhere you go!
And if God be for you, in you and with you, then who could possibly be against you?
DECLARATION:
ALL of God now resides in me and He is with me, all the time, everywhere I go.
